A goodly number of Masons and guests were on hand to mark the installation of W. Bro. Leonard Davis into the chair of King Solomon.
The Festive Board had a healthy turnout of masons and non-masons on hand with about 50 people sitting down for supper. Along with M.W. Bro. Don Mumby, Past Grand Master, there was also M.W. Bro. Jim Tulk, Past Grand Master, Grand Lodge of Newfoundland & Labrador in attendance. M.W. Bro. Tulk was the Worshipful Master when Leonard received his third degree in 1985 at their mother lodge, Avalon Lodge No. 2, in St. John’s.
The installing team, led by W. Bro. Jason Calverley and V.W. Bro. Wayne Keech, performed an excellent ceremony that was well received by the brethren in attendance.
Following the installation ceremony, R. W. Bro. John Saunders presented our new Immediate Past Master, W. Bro. Tim LaForce, with his Past Masters Jewel in recognition of his distinguished service as Worshipful Master of The Builders’ Lodge over the past year. M.W. Bro. Tulk and Bro. Mark Davis then presented Leonard with his new gavel and wished him a successful 2015-16 Masonic year.
The Worshipful Master, along with R.W. Bro. Jeff Barrie, Deputy District Grand Master, Ottawa District 2, and M.W. Bro. Mumby next made special presentations to three distinguished members of our lodge. W. Bro. Cecil Gould was presented with his “50 Years a Past Master” pin, W. Bro. John Haram received his “25 Years a Past Master” pin, and W. Bro. Richard Loomes received his “25 Years a Mason” pin.
